Announcing!! The Venus Radio M.I.A. fan art ticket giveaway contest.

What’s happening?

We are giving away a pair of tickets to see M.I.A. live, right here in Montreal at Metropolis on July 17, 2013.

How do you win?

Be a fan of M.I.A. and Venus Radio. Upload a piece of fan art to the Venus Radio facebook page (or if you must, submit it to venus@ckut.ca, we’ll check that clunky old inbox just this once).

Drawings, photos, videos, kareoke performances, outfits, photoshops, recipes, haikus, music, convincing rhetoric, all media welcome.

Winner selected by draw. So feel free to submit what’s in your heart, no need to pander to the judges.

When is this happening?

We will draw the winner’s name during our next episode, Thursday June 27, 2013 between 12pm and 2pm.
The show is at Metropolis on July 17, 2013.

Need another example?

Here is a cocktail created by bartender Sam Ross, called the Paper Plane, inspired by the M.I.A. mega-hit:

Ice
3/4 ounce bourbon
3/4 ounce Nonino Quintessentia amaro (bittersweet Italian liqueur)
3/4 ounce Aperol (bitter orange Italian aperitif)
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe.
